In June, I welcomed a lovely group of flower lovers to the garden to celebrate British Flowers Week 2025. The sun was shining, the garden was in full bloom, and the whole place felt extra magical. With a glass of rosé in hand and homemade canapés everyone settled in for a relaxed summer evening.
With a bucket and a pair of snips everyone was free to wander around my flower field and cut whatever flowers caught their eye. It was wonderful watching everyone drift between the beds, chatting, laughing, and discovering stems they hadn’t seen before.
With buckets overflowing, we regrouped on the lawn and I demonstrated how to create a hand-tied bouquet. It’s always such a joy to watch confidence grow as people learn how to spiral their stems and shape their own arrangements. Before long, everyone was completely absorbed in the making — and comparing notes with their new friends.
The whole evening had a gentle, happy buzz about it. There’s something special about bringing people together outside, with beautiful British-grown flowers all around, and giving them the space to be creative.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. It truly was a fun, laughter-filled celebration of seasonal flowers — and I can’t wait to host it again next year.
