Create a stunning “floral staircase” in the beautiful grade 2 listed entrance hall at Sherridge
November 2, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
£140I
Indulge yourself and spend a day with other floral enthusiasts (no floristry experience required) and learn how to create a stunning and abundant floral staircase, totally foam free, in the beautiful private home of Kat Norbury of Kat’s Cut Flowers.
This full-day workshop will cover all aspects of floristry from the artistic aspects of design, flower selection and colour palettes to the practicalities of cutting, conditioning and curating. We will also show you a range of techniques and mechanics required for other staircase installations (such as a floral garland) so that you can create large, wow factor foam-free installations yourselves.
You will work in small groups under the tuition of myself Kat Norbury, flower grower/founder of Kat’s Cut Flowers and living at Sherridge and experienced event florist, Jemima Willis from the Little Flower farm based a few miles away.
Kat founded “Kat’s Cut Flowers” during the pandemic and she grows beautiful, seasonal flowers to sell to customers locally. Jemima has worked both independently and with other florists in London, Anglesey and throughout the West Midlands and she also grows lots of her own flowers too. The day will be very much hands on, using the freshest flowers grown by Kat and Jemima, cut, conditioned and ready to use.
Sherridge has been in the Norbury family for 9 generations and Kat and her family live there today. It is a stunning Georgian house which includes some wonderful furniture and portraits that have been collected over 300 years. You are welcome to explore the house and gardens around Sherridge.
Included in your day:
- Gorgeous fresh flower and foliage materials grown by Kat and Jemima
