Farewell flowers

I have felt very privileged recently to be asked to create funeral flowers for two wonderful men.

For each, I designed a casket spray to sit on the coffin, using seasonal spring flowers sourced from local flower farms in Lincolnshire, alongside foliage gathered from my own garden. Working with flowers that are in season and grown close to home feels especially important for farewell flowers — they are honest, natural, and full of quiet beauty.

I also included snowdrops from my garden that I had carefully lifted, along with daffodils and tulips still on their bulbs. These last longer than cut flowers and, after the funeral, can be replanted as a living reminder — something that continues to grow and return year after year.
